The Role
Vitra has an opening for an ambitious, experienced and talented ‘Head of Marketing’ for their UK subsidiary to be based in the central London offices. 
The role is responsible for increasing the profile and awareness of Vitra in the UK for all sectors of the business – home, office and the Artek brand, also owned by Vitra. 
The person will work closely with the Sales managers from each sector to fully understand the market needs,  creating marketing content to reach the target market, both London based and in the UK regions. Meeting regularly with team leaders to align activities and presenting monthly marketing news and updates at the Sales meetings. In addition they would have a close working relationship with the Vitra Marcoms team at HQ who will provide key content for regional market integration. 
The Head of Marketing will also be responsible for the Marketing and Showroom team – a total team of 2 personnel. Directly reporting to them will be the Marketing Assistant and Showroom Manager.


Your Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning - Creating and delivering an annual marketing plan for each sector within budget. It is critical that the successful candidate has experience in the strict management and control of an annual marketing budget. 
  • Advertising and Social Media campaigns– designing a well-rounded ad strategic media strategy (print and digital) to reach the target audience 
  • Events and Exhibitions – create a calendar of exciting / inviting / target audience relevant events to nurture existing relations and create opportunities for reaching new audiences & press. Manage and implement these events. Determine, design, promote & implement Vitra presence at relevant external exhibitions 
  • Marketing and Communications - create calendar of e-news content / internal comms material (Vitra news). Distribute new materials and initiatives into the market. Capture and promote case study opportunities (inc. Photoshoot arranging). Purchase and distribute Vitra & Artek brochures in the UK. 
  • Press Relations Work with our external PR agency to liaise and respond to media requests from editorial teams, freelance journalists and stylists with external PR agency. Respond as a team to image and loan requests, deliver press cutting reviews, schedule and manage regular press trips to the Vitra campus and Artek, deliver interview opportunities with our designers. 


Your Qualifications

  • Proven track record of marketing manufactured products to the target audience, namely Architects & Designers, end-user clients, both contract and home dealers, consumers, general public and press. Experience in the furniture and design industry is highly desirable. 
  • Experienced in designing, executing and delivering successful events, exhibitions and campaigns.
  • Familiar with using tools: Essential - Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, social media tools.  Desired - P-Con Planer, InDesign 
  • Broad knowledge of marketing across multi-platforms: print, digital, video, social media, performance media.
  • Hands-on, service minded, self motivated team player that is committed and has a positive attitude – a ‘can do’ approach is crucial.
  • Strong, confident and professional communicator 
  • Good planning and organisational skills to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • Commercial awareness and budget management
  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • English is necessary, German would be a plus
  • European travel is required for meetings at the HQ in Switzerland and attending exhibitions and events.

The role will be located at our new flagship showroom in Shoreditch, EC2. 
This is a permanent full time position, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Vitra UK
Monday – Thursday  9-5.30pm, Friday 9-5pm
