Junior Designer f/m/d
Our common goal
As a member of Vitra's design team, you will be involved in early innovation and represent Design in Vitra's cross-functional teams. You will work on projects within different product categories such as furniture, lighting and accessories with a strong focus on shaping future solutions that are both innovative and sustainable.
You play a pivotal role in supporting the design team, collaborating seamlessly with Vitra's independent designers, as well as internal and external partners.
What you can expect
- Support research projects and discover key insights that translate into impactful solutions.
- Develop new product concepts using sketching, drawing, renderings, and computer modeling techniques.
- Assist in the concept, design, and testing of parts, as well as the verification and optimization of designs on models and prototypes.
- Work in cross-functional teams with iterative feedback loops and sprints using agile methods.
- Collaborate creatively with external designers and model builders.
- Apply new materials and technologies with an enhanced focus on sustainability.
- Ensure that a product solution can be reliably manufactured and will perform consistently in specified operating environments
How you can convince
- Master or Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or related fielding.
- Up to three years working experience using sketching, parametric and subD modelling as well as AI tools.
- Passionate about introducing sustainable materials and to be part of a revolution in sustainable thinking.
- Creativity and high enthusiasm for innovation with a strong user-centric thinking.
- Team player and collaborative mindset.
- Curiosity, common sense, positive attitude, willingness to get things done.
- Knowledge of agile methods (e.g. Design Thinking).
