The Position

As the Head of Product Unit Workspaces, Public Seating & Customized solutions you are an elementary member of our Product Development Leadership Team. You are responsible for envisioning and implementing an ambitious and inspiring future for your Product Unit. To realize your plans you lead a team of Product Managers and Engineers directly and interact daily with our sales and marketing teams.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for screening the industry & competition, gaining market and customer insights and ensuring sustainable growth of the product unit
  • Derive the Product Unit Strategy based on your analysis of customer behavior, the market, the industry ecosystem and competition
  • Responsible for defining and managing the Product Strategy, Innovation, Product Pipeline, Product Lifecycle and Portfolio for the Product Unit Workspaces, Public Seating and Customized Solutions
  • Leverage product portfolio management techniques to help the company fulfill its targets
  • Formulate product and go to market strategies and business cases
  • Apply financial acumen in planning and managing products
  • Make the most appropriate business and project decisions in collaboration with your peers from sales and marketing
  • Collaborate closely with designers to ensure differentiated and commercially successful Vitra products
  • Create achievable forecasts of sales, market share and production levels
  • Foster a productive, yet creative environment where team members collaborate in agile, empowered project teams
  • Lead a diverse and unique group of people with distinct personalities, experience levels and skillsets

 

Your qualifications

  • Experienced, commercially driven leader with sound technical skills, analytical ability, and strong business acumen
  • Distinct understanding of financial planning and analysis
  • Well-organized, entrepreneurial, energetic, forward-thinking and open-minded
  • Can-do attitude, likes to drive fast progress and bring complex projects to completion in time and budget
  • Has held commercial responsibility for markets, business units or product categories
  • Strong experience in product and portfolio management as well as in developing complex products and technical solutions
  • Strong leadership experience in a complex environment with agile, crossfunctional project teams
  • Experience leading teams to success under time pressure and with budget constraints
  • Creates lasting relationships in an internal and external network of experts and leaders. Establishes impactful relationships with customers, clients, suppliers and competitors
