The position 
We are looking for a passionate Sales & Marketing Director to further strengthen and develop our thriving activities in Artek’s home country Finland. In this role you are responsible for the implementation of the sales and marketing strategy for your market to achieve ambitious sales goals, while navigating a dynamic multi-brand (Artek, Vitra, String and others) and multi-channel (wholesale, direct retail, contract sales) environment.


Based at the Artek head office in central Helsinki you will be managing a highly dedicated team of around 40 employees with a sales target in a double-digit range. In this role, you will have the chance to move your career forward in our company by taking over a Market Leader role for the Finish market. 


Your responsibilities

  • Further strengthen our wholesale dealer network catering to private end customers
  • Oversee the activities of the Artek Helsinki flagship store
  • Develop our contract business through our wholesale dealer network and direct key account business
  • Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, with strong focus on the A&D community 
  • Identify new market opportunities 
  • Develop an overarching sales marketing plan for all channels.
  • Lead and develop your team through goals, on-going training and coaching 
  • Establish and foster an international network within the entire organisation (Vitra group)


Your profile

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Design or related field
  • 10+ years experience in sales, preferably in the design industry 
  • Affinity with premium or heritage brands
  • Proven omni-channel management skills, including e-commerce business 
  • Business and marketing development expertise 
  • Ambition to meet challenging business sales goals
  • Strong language skills (Finnish and English) 
  • Experience in collaborating with creative partners (graphic designers, photographers and architects)
